The band has played at The Black Country Museum for many years out in the cold round the festive fires, in the chapel but this year we are pleased to have been upgraded to the Women's Institute building. So a larger band than we usually have at this venue will be playing for four nights over Christmas. Its a very popular event in the West Midlands so we are honoured to be part of it. Please come and visit us if you are going to the Black Country Museum Christmas nights.
The band are busy trying out new pieces and are preparing for our next concert on 17th February at Springdale Methodist Church. The years bookings are being sorted - If anyone has an ideas for concert bookings please comment below.
We performed for a very full audience at St. Bartholomews Church, Wolverhampton. The audience appeared to enjoy it as much as we enjoyed playing! Well done James for your first concert and thanks to the players who helped up out. As you can see we all got into the xmas spirit!! Did you come to hear us? tell us what you thought here!!

We all knew it would happen soon....the Christmas music is out. Christmas festival, Sleigh ride all the usuals same time every year. Now people I ask you... every year I hope and pray we can play this - A Christmas Suite by David Barker (you need Spotify to open the link could only find the middle movement on youtube 😏)
It will take the P word and lots of annoyance to family members and neighbours but what a fantastic piece we never get to play other than the middle movement. Anyway comments below can we manage more than the middle movement this year?
Hi All - well tonight we played The Game of Thrones for the first time. This piece was desperately requested by some GOT fans. For those who are not fans - the music is great anyway! Quote of the evening was one of our longest serving trumpet players asking the other trumpet player beside him if it was a family show!!
We also had a few photos taken which have spruced up this website a little! Ill take more in a few weeks for those who were not on them and hopefully at a few concerts in our uniforms too.
Hi All! New band news blog has commenced. I have taken over the website and will start this blog to increase the interest which I hope will be informative and funny at times! I will update this blog weekly if I can on what we are rehearsing etc. Check here often for up to date news on the band.
So first of all we had the AGM last rehersal and still have a very wonderful full band committee and look forward to another year of superb rehearsals and concerts. We have had a sad year and a great year.
On the downside we lost one of our most loved members Rex who sadly passed away - his baritone sax playing will always be missed.
Our fantastic conductor Dougie also had to leave us after quite a number of years due to other comitments . He will be missed but hopefully we will see him occasionally!
On the plus side lots of new members - is it just me or are they all getting younger?!! (or are we getting older!...). We have had a few new band babies- and we have a great new conductor, James who has introduced us already to new pieces to play. As with all new conductors we are all testing him by pretending we don't have a clue what dynamics are 😂
